The world going through a transition. In one hand there is an information revolution with the advent of internet and on other hand there is a digital divide between those who have access and those who don’t have. In today’s date there are multiple sources of information which are freely available and can be useful for children. And the same time there is information on internet, which can be harmful for children as well. Hence, there is need to curate this information, and provide the same to the underprivileged children which can invoke further curiosity among the children. For instance, there are database like that of national innovation foundation, which if accessible to children, can raise inquisitiveness and they can ideate various applications of these innovations. Similarly, there are literature (stories, poems, prose, etc.) are made available by publishers which can be help build language and reading skills for children.
PALM stands for PeFSSED Application for Library and Media. PALM is about designing, developing, and using, a hand device containing open access information for school going students; and curate information for different age group/standards. This will make knowledge available at the fingertips of the children.
