POWERindia stands for “PeFSSED Organization for Women Enterprise in Rural India”.
Women are, undeniably, the powerhouse of socio-economic development of a society. Their meticulousness, their gentleness, honesty, ability to feel for a humanized approach to care – are some of the positive qualities which make them most deserving to lead different walks of life. Women roughly constitute 50% of the total population of India. If we are to keep dormant such a work force, then the Idea of a developed state of life is sure to remain as an Illusion. POWERindia is an initiative for women empowerment through income generation activities. The slogan of POWRindia is “Empower Each Mother for a Developed Future”. PeFSSED professes all round development of women – particularly for those coming from deprived rural communities. It envisions the participation of Women from all classes-from all sections- in the development process, starting from homes to the Parliaments.
